There are two signs tacked to the pier. A beautifully carved wooden plaque says, 'Port Llast Pier.' A paper sign attached to it says, 'Danger! Do not enter!' 2. A large merchant ship looms before you, her surface cracked and pitted, her sails gone! A name can still be read on her bow: 'The Gallant Prince' 3. The watchman stops you and says, 'You can go sown that hatch if you want to, but not me! No, sir! This ship set sail from Waterdeep with a full crew and she drifted here a week later with no cargo, tattered sails, and lookin' like she's been at sea for five years. Looks like somethin' ate her and spit her out, she does. And there wasn't a man on 'er, no, sir! At least no man that's alive! Not that we searched all o' her, mind you, but its been days and not a man's come up on deck!' 4. This looks like where they kept food for the crew. Only a few empty wooden cases and barrels remain. 5. Bunks stacked neatly throughout the room mark this as the crew's quarters. 6. You fee a sudden sense of lightness as if you were floating in thin air. You realize this is exactly what is happening, and that you are rising up into a dark opening above you. 7. Ghouls and Giant Skeletons 8. After the battle you turn to survey the room, and discover a man lying in a corner. He appears very pale, and when you approach him, you see why....his skin has hardened into stone. 'I am the last...the last seaman of the Gallant Prince. They have...turned me slowly to stone to force me to help them, always promising to cast....' his voice trails off. 'Who is it? Who has done this to you?' You implore him. You can see the spell that has been cast upon him is working faster every moment. The man strains to speak. 'First it was the pirates...from Luskan, I saw their coat of arms. Then...' The seaman stiffens into death, a crumpled statue lying at your feet. As you stand, you feel the floor opening beneath you and you float gently down to the level below. to (4,8) 9. Troll and Bugbears (1.7K exp) 10. Medusas (3.2K exp) 11. As you sheathe your weapons and prepare to go, you notice a number of brass buttons on the floor, with a familiar looking coat of arms. (BRASS BUTTON)quest item 12. Only a few birds circle in the air. 13. A broken sign reads: 'Port Llast Harbor Authorities Register Your Cargo Here ' 14. Scraps of paper litter the floor and shipping charts cover the walls. 15. A faded sign above the broken door reads: 'Barkim's Warehouse Safe Storage 16. Empty grain sacks litter this building. 17. You interrupt scavengers! Giant Rats and Neo-Otyugh (2.8K exp) 18. As you approach the figure of a woman, you watch her expression change from concern to relief. As you get closer it seems as if she is trying to tell you something and oddly seems to shimmer before your eyes! You ask the woman if you can help, and barely hear her reply, 'Brave Paladin of the realm find the switches to allow you to walk safely. My own champion died protecting me here, succeed where we failed, and watch the shadows!' You turn at her warning and avoid a dagger aimed at your back! You turn to the woman to see if she is unhurt, but watch as her form shimmers and then disappears. Your attacker is long gone. 19. The sign to the west reads: 'Goldlaws Shipping' the one to the south reads: 'Swenar's Boat Rentals' 20. A schedule of shipments is on the wall. You guess that some are very overdue. 21. A sign tacked on the door to the west reads: 'No Admittance' 24. Margoyles and Cockatrice (1.6K exp) 25. The sound of the sea lapping against the Gallant Prince is oddly reassuring. 26. As you turn the corner a deep voice startles you, 'Never peace, even here. So, what do you want? A fight? Do I look like a worthy adversary?' He chortles to himself and carefull moves his sword to lay on his knees. 'My kind is always feared, but like you, I have no desire to die. I would rather leave this place with money in my pocket, so how about a trade?' Noticing your interest, he continues, 'For one jewel I will tell you everything I have learned from this place. Do we have a bargain?' Very well then. 'tis both our loss. The man turns and leaves. 'I have allied myself with other adventurers for a time, but none remain. Their knowledge does, however. I know that if you find 3 switches, there is a way to stay dry, but I have not discovered the secret. Too often, I am harried by a group that has their base to the north some- where. If not them, the scavengers. I believe that I will sleep safely tonight in Port Llast. Farewell!' 27. This appears to have once been a storage shed. 28. It is ominously quiet. 29. There is a fish odor in this building, but nothing else. 30. Looking across the stern of the Gallant Prince, you think you see movement through one of the portholes. 31. A few rusty anchors are piled in the corner. 40. The gentle murmur of the ocean exhoes down the passageway. 41. A sign on the wall indicates this is a maintainence building, but there is no apparent way to open the door. A short path at the side of the building leads to a raised bridge, but try as you might you see no way to lower it. As you peer across the water, you observe that the other half of the bridge is also raised. 42. There is a very unsafe looking boat attached to the pier. Do you wish to take it and attempt to row to the other side? You move away. As you near the other pier, a tentacle grasps the boat, throwing you overboard. You struggle with the sea monster and attempt to swim to the other side. Battered and bruised, you arrive on the pier. 43A. Another of the fools that are here for fame and glory? The foolish townspeople believe that Lord Nasher will send us troops. They do not realize that he cannot spare the troops and we must retake this area ourselves.' With a tired look of resignation, he looks you over and says, 'I opened this business just before the Prince came here with its curse, it was doing so well.' He shakes his head and sighs, 'Leave and save you life.' You realize he will answer no more questions. 48. A sign grabs you attention: 'Fish' 49. Broken barrels with a fading fish odor lay piled against the wall. 50. The wooden sign reads: 'Lupan's Ship Repair Best Rates - Best Workmanship' 51.
